President Trump is out of office, but we are still fighting in court to defeat many of his harmful and illegal policies — this week we secured another major victory.
We protected the Endangered Species Act – and won our 51st lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
The Trump Administration tried to gut a key provision of the Endangered Species Act to satisfy the fossil fuel industry. I stood with tribal leaders, legislators, and environmental champions to announce that Washington would challenge this illegal, immoral rule in court. We promised to stand up for the 49 species listed in the federal Endangered Species Act that call Washington home, including the southern resident orca whales, and the chinook, chum, and sockeye salmon.
The Trump era rule fast-tracked the process of removing a species from the endangered list, making it increasingly difficult for experts to protect plants and animals from threats brought on by climate change. This rule would have cleared the way for environmentally disastrous mining and drilling projects in areas where protected species live.
This week, a federal judge agreed with our legal coalition and struck down Donald Trump’s rule undermining the Endangered Species Act.
I’m proud of our record against Trump and his administration in court. Will you stand with me and make a $10 contribution, so we can keep taking on fights like these?
This victory will make a huge difference for the endangered species whose habitats are threatened every day by the consequences of climate change. I’m proud of the coalition we brought together to make this happen.
Thank you,
Bob
