Friend,
Inflation, rent hikes, and climate change are making it harder for us just to get by. Meanwhile, the richest New Yorkers are enjoying their summer vacations.
But, we won't let the ultra-rich hide from the world that they are killing. That's why we journeyed all the way out to the Hamptons today to bring the fight to them.
Can you make a donation to support our 4-day Hamptons occupation? Click here to contribute.
According to Oxfam, the world’s richest 1% cause double the emissions of the poorest 50% and many of them are right here in Southampton.
All weekend, we’re holding teach-ins, blocking roads, and protests at the homes of the wealthiest of the wealthy to demand a fair tax system, environmental justice, and Native land protections.
Can you chip in to help us transport activists and community leaders to the Hamptons? Click here to donate.
It’s time to tax the rich, build green housing for all, and fight to protect our Native lands—and since we won’t rest until we get it done, the billionaires in the Hamptons shouldn’t rest, either.
Best,
Alicé
Dear Friend,
Friend, it's only July and we have already seen record-breaking heat waves across the country. While we’re sweating it out in the city, the people creating the majority of pollution and profiting the most from the destruction of the planet are relaxing in the Hamptons.
Can you help us bring the fight to them? Click here and donate to help us transport hundreds of climate and housing activists to the Hamptons for four straight days of disruption and direct action.
From helicopter rides and private jets, to multiple homes, the ultra-rich are responsible for the majority of emissions. According to Oxfam, the world’s richest 1% cause double the emissions of the poorest 50%. They are the ones destroying the planet. So they are the ones who need to pay for fixing it. New York must tax the rich to fund the investments we need in our neighborhoods and our planet.
Starting tomorrow, we’ll be kicking off a 4-day occupation of the Hamptons by joining the Shinnecock Nation, Long Island Progressive Coalition, and others, to march on Billionaire’s Row. And we need your help.
Transporting hundreds of activists from New York City all the way to the Hamptons isn’t cheap. Can you help chip in to cover transportation and food costs?
We cannot wait a day longer, there’s too much at stake. We need to address the crisis of a soon-to-be unlivable planet. We need the power of your support to make sure billionaires pay what they owe and working people get relief, while the planet is made a priority.
Friend, please make a contribution during our occupation of the Hamptons to ensure we are able to transport, feed, and house people while we’re there. Help us show the residents of the richest place in the world that you can’t hide from the power of the people.
Thank you,
Alicé Nascimento, NYCC
