I just finished my sixth Walk Across Connecticut. Over the course of this week, I walked from the northwest corner of the state all the way to to New Haven.

This is my favorite week of the year. I get to hear from people I represent who might never call or write to my office. That’s important to me because my job is to serve everyone — not just those that have the time to proactively reach out.

But I couldn't meet everyone on the walk, and the goal really is to hear from as many people as I can. So I put together a short survey to give you a chance to share your opinion too.

The walk is an opportunity for me to hear from people who aren’t plugged into politics on a daily basis. That’s part of the reason I do this walk each year.

Right now, making sure that I am hearing from everyone is essential. With all that has happened in Washington in the last few weeks — especially with SCOTUS and our gun safety bill, it’s really helpful to hear from people who aren’t necessarily on Twitter or watching cable news.

And even if I couldn't meet you on this walk, you deserve to be heard too.
