This Week at CMD

The Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) has a number of new stories we'd like to share with you.

We recently reported on how the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) made its position on the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade clear, teaming up with anti-abortion extremists to coach ALEC members on how to campaign on the issue.

In addition, CMD published articles on the Heritage Foundation's cheerleading for an anti-LGBTQ hate group, Kochworld's spending—and a defeat—in this year's primary elections, and other topics.

We also signed on to and published a statement from over 20 news outlets calling out the corporate and legacy media for making ads for oil and gas companies as the planet increasingly suffers from climate change.

Here's the latest!

Heritage Gives Award to Anti-LGBTQ Hate Group

The Heritage Foundation awarded an anti-LGBTQ hate group a major cash prize at its annual Resource Bank conference for developing a new tool that scores corporations based on their treatment of conservative Christian beliefs in their business practices, workplace, charitable giving, and political spending.

Corporate Media Must Stop Making Ads for Fossil Fuel Companies

CMD joined a group of more than 20 members of the OptOut independent media network in this op-ed calling out corporate and legacy media for continuing to make ads for oil and gas companies, even now, when scientists say we’ve done irreversible damage to our planet.
