Friend, our sponsored bill is SO close to being passed into law.

SB 260 (the Climate Corporate Accountability Act), which would hold large corporate polluters accountable and combat greenwashing, has already passed the State Senate and two key Assembly committees.

But it’s facing major industry opposition, especially from Big Oil and large corporations, so we need YOUR help getting it across the finish line, friend.

EnviroVoters is organizing advocacy meetings for climate champions like you to meet with your Assemblymembers to urge them to support SB 260. We are holding virtual training sessions the next two weeks to get you all the info you need to talk to your legislator — will you sign up for a zoom meeting to get SB 260 passed?

If we pass SB 260, it would send shockwaves across the country, friend.

This first-in-the-nation policy would require all large US-based corporations that do business in California to publicly disclose their greenhouse gas emissions each year. In addition to holding these corporate polluters in check, the bill would also help us all better understand California's progress towards a clean energy economy.

Instead of listening to the noise coming from Big Oil and other corporate polluters, your Assemblymembers should hear from EnviroVoters like you. A face-to-face meeting between legislator and constituent has proven to be one of the most effective forms of advocacy.

At the virtual trainings these next two weeks, we’ll get you all prepared to meet with your Assemblymember and advocate for SB 260 before your summer meetings, including sharing talking points, explaining how to request and conduct legislator meetings, and answering every question you have.

Sign up for the Zoom training on Monday, July 11 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Sign up for the Zoom training on Tuesday, July 19 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

(If neither of those times work, just reply to this email and we’ll find another time for you!)

Thanks for taking action to pass SB 260!
