Nottingham Beach will be making a welcome return this year for everybody to enjoy over the summer holidays.

This free, family-friendly event features a bigger than ever real beach larger than the playing area of Wimbledon's centre court and an accompanying wading pool.

Brand new for summer 2022 are two giant inflatable water slides, the largest 55m long slide is suitable for all ages whilst the a smaller 22m is specifically for? younger children. Don't worry if you don't have your swimming costume as wetsuits and access to the changing area are included in the price.

Slide tickets will be bookable in advance or can be purchased on the day or unlimited rides for a one hour session. Nottingham Residents can book at a discounted rate of ?10, the full rate is ?12 per hour. Tickets are on sale now.

Plus, don't forget all the usual rides, sideshows and attractions including a 14m high star-flyer which will tower 40m into the air with amazing views of the beach below and the city beyond.

The annual Bands In The Park programme has just been announced for summer 2022. Five free concerts will be staged at Victoria Embankments art deco 1930s bandstand and at Nottingham Arboretum's Victorian-style bandstand.

A range of musical styles will be presented with concerns being held between?2.00pm - 4.00pm. Audiences are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or cushions or simply sit on the amphitheatre steps. Unfortunately, we can no longer provide seating for these concerts.

The first concert will be held on Sunday 17 July with Cool Jazz.

The last few tickets are available for this Sunday's Queen's Baton Relay event, which also includes free admission to Nottingham Castle.?

Counting down to the start of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the baton will arrive in the city this Sunday afternoon with an event that will celebrate communities across the Commonwealth.?

Ticket holders will have the chance to both enjoy the event and up to six hours experiencing the newly refurbished castle, it's galleries, exhibits and grounds as well as live music from 12.00pm - 6.00pm

In 2019, Nottingham's own Vicky McClure presented the BBC One documentary?"Our Dementia Choir", exploring how music can help people living with the condition, which went on to earn a Bafta TV nomination.?

Vicky will be bringing the Dementia Choir to the Splendour Festival main stage ahead of her brand new BBC One series. They will be filmed for the final episode, supported by Tom Grennan in what is sure to be a heart-warming performance.

With double the stage time, the line-up for Nottinghamshire?s biggest music festival includes performances by Richard Ashcroft, Supergrass, Craig David presents TS5, Anne-Marie, The Human League, Razorlight, The Vamps, Ocean Colour Scene, Happy Mondays, and Belinda Carlisle.
