Dear John,

Less than a week to go! Have you decided who will get your #VoteForTheOcean?

Tonight, Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson will take part in a final head-to-head debate. Whichever becomes Prime Minister, as #GenerationSea it’ll be up to us to make sure they keep their promises to tackle the climate emergency, end plastic pollution and keep our water clean.

But our parliamentary system doesn’t concentrate all power in the hands of the Prime Minister. Members of Parliament have a lot of influence over the direction their party takes.

We’ll be asking every newly elected Member of Parliament to sign the #GenerationSea pledge -- can you help make a start by contacting one or two of your local candidates?

Their answers might help you decide how to cast your vote too. Here’s how:

Click here to find contact details for your local candidates [[link removed]]. Decide which candidates you want to contact.Send them an email asking if they will sign the #GenerationSea pledge below, if elected.

I pledge to protect the ocean:

Stop plastic pollution.Act fast to tackle the climate crisis.Don’t let sewage back in the sea.Fully protect areas for sea life to flourish.

It’ll be really helpful if you could send us any responses you get back from candidates. Forward email responses from candidates to us at [[email protected]]

Thank you,

PS On Twitter? Let’s keep raising our voices for the ocean -- can you retweet our message [[link removed]] to get on the radar of Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson before tonight’s debate?

Drastic measures are needed to protect the marine environment. Become a member today [[link removed]] to help us tackle pollution in our seas and on the beaches, inspire communities to take action and push for change at the highest level.
