Beach closures ruin summer fun, and too often they’re caused by outdated sewage and stormwater systems. And while this is inconvenient for vacation plans, the impacts can be far more serious.

Our outdated and underfunded water systems dump hundreds of billions of gallons of raw sewage into our waterways each year, polluting drinking water, endangering public health, harming aquatic life and damaging our environment. Climate change is only making matters worse.

We have the technology and the means to prevent these spills from happening, what we need is a federal funding commitment to update our water infrastructure.
