Layla here, the NIAC DMV Chapter Captain. I wanted to pop into your inbox quickly to let you know why I love NIAC and my local chapter.
I’ve been involved with NIAC since I interned here in college. That was ten years ago.
I knew I wanted to become even more involved so I continued my leadership with NIAC, first as our Northern California Regional Chair and now as our DC Metro Area Chapter Captain. As a chapter member, I grew closer to my Iranian-American community in the DMV area, built long-lasting friendships, and felt a true sense of belonging after moving to DC.
Our chapter works to include all voices at the table and grow in knowledge and compassion for one another. We all come from different backgrounds but our shared values and passions unites us.
