I'm delighted to report that we're more than halfway towards the funding target for our billboard campaign to stop US nuclear weapons returning to the UK.
But there's still more that needs to be done. If you haven't already, can you donate to CND and help stop these terrible weapons from making us a target?
In case you missed the news, US nuclear weapons are returning to the UK for the first time since 2008, to RAF Lakenheath, a base in Suffolk run by the US.
Their return will ratchet up global tensions at a critical time. We're already seeing the very real danger that the war in Ukraine will escalate into a direct conflict between NATO and Russia, making the threat of nuclear war the greatest it has been for decades. The presence of US nuclear weapons in the UK will make any peaceful resolution to the conflict more difficult. And it will put Britain on the front line in any future nuclear war.
Help us expose what's happening with a massive-scale billboard campaign across the country - the public must know.

In the coming weeks and months we want to place a series of huge, eye-catching billboards in towns and cities across the country.
Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of supporters, we've already been able to book spots in in Birmingham and Liverpool for the Conservative and Labour Party conferences, as well as Manchester, London and Bradford.
But we need to get the message about the return of US nukes even more widely, and want to book billboards in even more towns and cities across the country. In the face of government dissembling and media apathy, it's up to us to spread the word - but we can only do it with your help.

With huge public opposition, led by CND, we stopped these nukes before - and with your help we can stop them again.
It was massive popular protest and public opposition to the presence of US nuclear weapons in the UK that saw them removed in the first place; from cruise missiles in the 1980s to the removal of the last US nukes from Lakenheath in 2008. Without huge public opposition, they would still be here today. We must take the lead once again.
But to do this, we still need to raise at least £6,500 to place all the adverts we need. And we can't do this without your help. The more money we can raise, the more billboards we can get in locations all over the country, and the more people will be made aware of these incredibly dangerous and destabilising plans.
