Have you been watching the January 6 hearings? I have – and it's becoming ever clearer just how close our country came to a constitutional crisis.
It's also becoming clearer that more must be done to ensure that the voice of the people is heard and election results are honored.
It’s clear we can’t trust the GOP on that count. Many Republicans have repeated Trump's Big Lie, promoted voter suppression legislation, manipulated maps, and launched attacks on nonpartisan election officials – to say nothing of the 2022 GOP candidates who actually participated in January 6.
So what do we do? We work to strengthen our institutions. We pass needed reforms. And – importantly – we make sure the officials who are in place for the next presidential election will uphold the will of the people, not that of an extremist minority.
That's part of our goal at the NDRC. We're working to help elect Democrats who will reject voter suppression and gerrymandering, strengthen democratic institutions, and turn down attempts from Trump (or whoever else) to rig vote counts. But we can’t do it without you, so I have to ask, John: Can you make a donation today to support all of our work?

If it hadn't been for a handful of officials who rose to the occasion – some of whom you may have seen testify before the January 6 Committee – Trump might have succeeded in his nefarious plan to steal the last election. We can't allow anything like that to happen ever again. We need trusted officials and strong democratic institutions in place, and this is the year we must get it done.
