BY ARGHAVAN SALLES and VINEET ARORA | Almost 2 percent of babies born in the United States are the result of fertility treatments, together referred to as assisted reproductive technologies (ART). The recent overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court threatens the ability to access the treatments people need to build their families, such as ART.

Jackson Women’s Health Organization, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, West Virginia v. EPA, and more.

“The writing has been on the wall for a long time,” said Erwin Chemerinsky at the July 6 event. “This term was in one sense not a surprise, but it was shocking to see decision after decision come down in a conservative way.”

BY JAKHEYA | Front and Center highlights the success of Springboard to Opportunities’ Magnolia Mother’s Trust, which this year will give $1,000 per month for 12 months to 100 families headed by Black women living in federally subsidized housing.

“It was really unbelievable when I got the call a few months ago that I would be part of the Magnolia Mother’s Trust and start receiving $1,000 each month. … I really believe that there should be a program like the Magnolia Mother’s Trust for all the people living in poverty who need it, especially moms.”
