Learn how to harvest wild rice
Want to know more about how to harvest wild rice? We have a webinar at noon Wednesday, July 13, all about wild rice harvesting. Nicholas Snavely, DNR assistant wildlife manager in Sauk Rapids, will share everything you need to know to get out and harvest your own wild rice. Harvesting wild rice is open to Minnesota residents and nonresidents each year in the early fall, once the rice is ripe. There are license requirements and regulations that apply.
The webinar is part of the DNR?s Minnesota Outdoor Skills and Stewardship Series, which aims to give participants quick, relevant information on upcoming seasons and events, as well as skills to enjoy these opportunities. The webinar is free, but registration is required.

Wolf plan webinar is July 13
We are welcoming comments on a draft of Minnesota?s updated wolf management plan. The wolf plan draft incorporates the diverse views of Minnesotans and will guide the state?s approach to wolf conservation once finalized.
You can register for an informational webinar about the draft plan. The webinar will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. Registration is required and free, and participants will have an opportunity to pre-register to ask questions and comment during the webinar.

Prairie Pod: Season 5 is here
It?s grasslands month in Minnesota and that means the Prairie Pod podcast is back! The podcast communicates the science surrounding prairie conservation, restoration/reconstruction and management.
This season of the podcast will cover prairie predators, how to make reconstructions more diverse, the fungus among-us, Minnesota state ?prairie? parks, pollinator-friendly solar, shallow lakes and prairie economics.
