We wanted to make sure you saw this, John: Vogue recently profiled our CEO, María Teresa Kumar, and highlighted the critical work we're doing to build Latinx voting power in swing states across the country:

From the start, Kumar had gone against the standing organizing wisdom, aiming not for traditional canvassing but for digital scale. (“Nike doesn't go door-to-door to sell their shoes,” she notes.)

Voto Latino did advertising and outreach through social media, radio, and what we'd now call viral culture, a strategy that proved crucial during the 2020 presidential election , at the height of COVID-19. “We entered the pandemic with 80,000 registered voters,” Kumar says. “We finished with 600,000.”

Here at Voto Latino, we're reaching a new generation of Latinx voters, which means we can't rely on last generation's strategies. Instead, we're breaking the mold and testing innovative ways to meet voters where they are.

Our strategy is working. In 2020, the number of young Latinos we registered in battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia exceeded the Democratic margin of victory. And, independent research shows that about 80% of the voters we registered turned out to vote!

But now isn't the time for us to slow down or take a victory lap. Instead, we need to double down on our efforts so we can defend our Democratic gains in – and expand into new territory:

“In Arizona, we're expecting an additional 162,000 young people of Latino descent to turn 18 by 2024,” Kumar notes.

“In Texas, Latinos represent roughly 23 percent of the electoral base, but they represent 52 percent of the classrooms. What we're seeing is opportunity.”

By registering and mobilizing young Latinos, we have the opportunity to reshape the electorate and build lasting Democratic power to keep the House, Senate, and White House blue in 2022, 2024, and beyond.

But we can't get it done without you, John. That's why we're asking: Will you donate today to support our voter registration work so we can elect more Democrats in swing states across the country?
