These are just some of the deadliest mass shootings in America, and they all have one thing in common: the shooter used an AR-15-style weapon. Assault weapons are the weapon of choice for mass shooters in America because they are uniquely lethal.
The solution is simple: Ban these deadly assault weapons.
There’s already a bipartisan bill to ban assault weapons, called H.R.1808 - The Assault Weapons Ban. But it needs more support to pass the House. We just need 6 more representatives to sign on as co-sponsors!
John, if you're receiving this email, your representative has yet to sponsor this vital legislation and we need to make it urgently clear: The majority of Americans want an assault weapons ban NOW. Can you send a message right now and urge your representative to take action? [[link removed]]
We know that banning assault weapons saves lives. When a federal ban was in effect from 1994-2004, America saw a 37% decline in gun massacres and a 70% decline in assault weapons traced to crime. But after Congress let the ban expire in 2004, due to NRA influence, and mass shooting deaths have increased by 347%.
We don’t have to live like this: Contact your representatives now and urge them to support H.R.1808 - The Assault Weapons Ban! [[link removed]]
