The January 6th Committee hearings have revealed just how far Donald Trump was
willing to go to cling to power -- and it's even more damning than I thought.
Trump lied, incited violence amongst his supporters who he knew were armed, and
coerced everyone around him to go along with his deluded, dangerous scheme. Witnesses even testified that he tried to physically assault his own Secret
Service agents in an attempt to lead the mob to the Capitol.
That day was one of the darkest our country has ever seen, and we have work to
do to make sure justice is served and it never happens again.

I will never forget how I felt on January 6th, and I'm sure you won't either.
The fact that a former President of the United Statescould encourage -- and even reportedly delight in -- this kind of violence is
despicable.
As all the facts come to light, it becomes clear how important it is for us to
protect and expand our Democratic Senate Majority. If we lose even a single seat
in November, we'll lose our majority -- and with it, our ability to secure our
elections, protect our democracy and hold Trump and his allies accountable for
their crimes.
