We wanted to reach out again to thank everyone who came out to one of our many events in June and to make sure you know what we have coming up in July!
As part of the ongoing project to re-launch our caucuses, we are very excited to be re-introducing our new Veterans Caucus this month. It will be focused on listening to and fighting for the vibrant Veteran community in New Jersey.

NJDSC Coalitions Director Kinn Badger & Deputy Executive Director Leslye Moya visited Cumberland County on June 2 to support women running for office in the county. Women’s leadership is essential to advancing inclusive policies which is why events like this are so important!

On June 5th, the NJDSC LGBTQ+ Caucus hosted a brunch with the Monmouth County Dems LGBTQ+ Caucus to kickoff Pride in Asbury Park. After a two-year pause due to the pandemic, we loved getting to celebrate LGBTQ+ joy and community IN-PERSON!

Also on June 5th, South Asian American Caucus Chair Toral Patel & Reps. Donald Payne Jr and Mikie Sherrill spoke at the AAPI Montclair Lantern Festival to honor those affected by anti-Asian violence and bigotry. NJDSC also registered voters and shared voting info!

On June 7th, the Hunterdon County Young Democrats elected their new leadership for the 2022-2023 school year. NJDSC Youth Coordinator, Keely Magee, attended the meeting. She is a former VP of the Hunterdon Co. Young Dems.

On June 8, the NJDSC Black Caucus hosted their first meeting, via Zoom, since the pandemic began. Chairman Jones and Assemblyman Benji Wimberly attended. Caucus Chair Missy Balmir introduced the new Vice Chair Eash Haughton.

NJDSC helped organize and volunteered in the Ocean City March for Our Lives rally on June 11. Thousands of New Jerseyans across the state marched against the epidemic of gun violence.

The NJ Young Dems LGBTQ+ Caucus hosted a Pride mixer in Trenton on June 16. Shout out to Caucus Chair Ian Holmes and Communications Lead Mint Vu for a successful event! [[link removed]] NJ Young Dems President, Emerging Caucus Chair Fatima Heyward and NJDSC LGBTQ+ Caucus Chair Lauren Albrecht also came out to support the event!

On June 17, Chairman LeRoy Jones and Exec. Director Saily Avelenda joined the Morris County Dems for their Gala Dinner celebrating Pride Month & Juneteenth.

On June 18, NJDSC attended the Monmouth County Juneteenth Celebration to register voters! The celebration was a joint event between Neptune and Asbury Park and Congressman Frank Pallone also attended.

The [[link removed]] NJDSC LGBTQ+ Caucus and the Union County Democratic Committee hosted a successful Pride Mixer on June 21! Chairman Jones, Senator Joe Cryan, Assemblywoman Linda Carter, Union County Commissioner Rebecca Williams, & NJDSC LGBT Caucus Chair Lauren Albrecht attended.

NJDSC participated in the Unity March, the 1st, large-scale, Asian American-led march in Washington, D.C. Our AANHPI, South Asian American, and Muslim Caucuses partnered up with Pennsylvania Dems, and the AAPI Coalition to make this happen!
