As Attorney General, I can draft and propose bills to the legislature. That means I work with stakeholders, partner with sponsors, and work to make sure they pass into law. This month, two of our biggest legislative accomplishments went into effect.

As of July 1st, the bill I drafted and proposed to ban the sale and manufacture of high-capacity magazines went into effect in Washington state. In addition, the affordable healthcare bill I drafted and proposed went into effect, expanding access to free or reduced-cost healthcare at our hospitals to millions of Washingtonians.

Both of these new laws will improve the health and safety of Washingtonians. If you’re with me, will you add your name to show your support today? [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

We are continually reminded of the horrifying consequences of gun violence. Banning the sale of high-capacity magazines was a six-year fight, but I’m not stopping there. As long as I hold public office, I will lead the fight to ban the sale of assault weapons in Washington.

Thanks to our affordable healthcare bill, a single parent working full-time for $17 an hour now qualifies for discounts of 50% or more on out-of-pocket expenses from hospital bills. Retired seniors on fixed incomes, working families, and middle-income Washingtonians will all benefit from expanded access to reduced-cost healthcare. The discounted amount depends on household income, assets, and the size of the hospital and hospital system, but families with household incomes of $100,000 per year or less will likely qualify for free or reduced hospital care. Approximately half of all Washingtonians now have access to affordable hospital care.

Results like these are the reason I am passionate about leading these fights. Will you add your name and support my work? [[link removed]]

I will continue to advocate for and pass common-sense laws that improve the lives of Washingtonians.

Thank you,

Bob
