Happy July!
What an incredible few weeks we've had at Creative Commons. June gave us many highlights:
🇧🇪 CC in Brussels—we hosted a reception in Brussels ([link removed]) to mark the 20th anniversary of the licenses and a hybrid roundtable discussion dedicated to the EU Data Act ([link removed]) .
📝 CC CEO Catherine Stihler penned a commentary on How and why the EU’s Data Act will have an impact beyond European borders ([link removed]) .
🗽 CC in New York City—CC CEO Catherine Stihler, Chris J. Lewis (Public Knowledge), and Briana Marbury (Interledger Foundation) led a discussion ([link removed]) on how public interest organizations are taking the lead in creating a better Internet for sharing open knowledge and culture.
⭐ CC co-founder Lawrence Lessig hosted some of the CC team and others at a special dinner for open friends ([link removed]) as we embark on the next 20 years of CC licenses and advancing Better Sharing.
✊ CC’s Director of Open Culture and Policy, Brigitte Vézina, represented CC with a lightning talk ⚡️ on better sharing of cultural heritage ([link removed]) at RightsCon 2022.
🎥 The CC Open Culture VOICES Vlog ([link removed]) , a multilingual series of short interviews ([link removed]) with dozens of open GLAM experts from around the world, released its 35th and final episode ([link removed]) on 2 June.
📚 We rounded off the month with CC's Director of Open Knowledge Cable Green representing Creative Commons in three sessions during the United Nations Transforming Education Pre-Summit ([link removed]) . (See Cable’s slides ([link removed]) )
