Lisa Anderson | Director of Young Adults

Summer is a great time to both relax and set out on adventures. Whether camping, globetrotting or maximizing a staycation, there are so many options. But summer is also a great season to serve. Maybe it’s taking vacation time and volunteering in your church’s VBS. Maybe it’s having a lonely neighbor over for dinner, or helping an elderly friend plant flowers or clean out a cluttered room. The possibilities are endless. In a culture where “self care” and “me time” have become the norm, let’s be the first to remember “the least of these” and “do unto others.” Open your eyes and heart; look around for opportunities. Make your summer both fun and meaningful by giving your time, talent and resources to make someone’s day — and possibly change a life.
