I’m so grateful for all the contributions that came in ahead of last month’s FEC deadline. Because of this team’s hard work, our campaign is heading into the last full quarter before Election Day in a strong place.
After what’s happened over the past couple of months -- from the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade to heartbreaking mass shootings -- I know people are sad, angry, and frankly, exhausted.
But we can’t let up -- too much is riding on this election for us to stop now.
Our primary was last month and we now know who my opponent will be in the general election. He’s an extremist. An election denier. And stands in lockstep with his party’s anti-woman agenda that has pledged to implement a national abortion ban.
Sounds pretty out there, right? Still, pundits say his chances aren’t “out of the question.”
We can’t take anything for granted. After all, we never imagined something like the January 6th attack happening in our country, and it did. People said we were alarmists for thinking the Supreme Court would overturn Roe , and it did.
It’s discouraging -- to say the least -- but we can’t give up. We have to keep fighting.
That’s what I’m doing. I’m working to lower costs and make New Jersey more affordable for families. I voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act to codify Roe because we knew this Supreme Court decision was coming. I’m working to hold those responsible for January 6th accountable and make sure it never happens again. I voted for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to enact our country’s first gun-safety reforms in decades and keep our children safe.
We have to keep at it. As an active member of our team, I know you will.
