In the past year, I’ve met a lot of parents.

Parents, grandparents, foster parents, legal guardians, etc., they’re all saying the same thing: they know and want what’s best for their children, but the government keeps getting in the way.

More and more, elected officials, government bureaucrats, and special interests seek to dictate
education and healthcare decisions for our kids – asking parents to take a back seat.

I’ll ask you this: does Dick Blumenthal sit with your children and help them do math homework at the kitchen table? Are Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi your primary care physicians? Of course not!

So why are they making decisions for us? Elected officials have a responsibility to protect local control and honor the rights of parents. Parents deserve options – with education, our taxpayer dollars should follow the child and zip-codes shouldn’t determine the quality of education our children receive.

As your Senator, I will always fight for Connecticut families and will support measures that allow parents to make choices for their own children. Bureaucrats like Dick Blumenthal have no business making healthcare and education decisions for us.
