John,
If you thought the GOP was done coming after reproductive rights, think
again.
In the past week alone, Republicans in two state legislatures tried
passing extreme bills aimed at controlling decisions that should be made
between patients and their doctors.
One in Ohio would force doctors to “reimplant” ectopic pregnancies -- a
practice that is not even scientifically possible -- or face “abortion
murder” charges. The other in Pennsylvania would require the burial or
cremation of fetal remains after a patient experiences a miscarriage or an
abortion.
These are just the two latest examples of Republicans -- most of them
straight, white men -- trying to punish women and doctors for miscarriages
and abortions, and it’s disgusting.
Bills like these show exactly why state legislature elections matter, and
why we must continue to always be alert and keep up the fight for
reproductive freedom at every level of government.
If you’re with us and believe in every person’s right to bodily autonomy
and reproductive choice, pitch in $5, $10, or more to help us elect
progressive leaders up and down the ballot in 2020, including state
legislatures in Ohio and Pennsylvania where these extreme bills are
happening:

As we set our sights on flipping the Senate, keeping the House majority,
and taking back the White House, let’s not forget to keep up the fight
against far-right bills like these in the states.
Thanks,
