John -
When Texas Republicans decided to start an underhanded redistricting process in 2003, they honed in on Tarrant County and redrew district maps to punish my mentor and friend, Rep. Martin Frost, for his role drawing district lines in 1991. The GOP drew what they thought was an airtight map for seats in Congress and the statehouse.
But while North Texas has changed over the years, the Republican Party hasn’t -- and Tarrant County voters are ready for new leadership.
We’re 9 seats away from flipping the Texas State House blue -- and it’s crucial we win seats in Tarrant County to reach our goal. Pitch in today >>>
Fair & Square is targeting a number of seats in Tarrant County that are vital to flipping the Texas House. Our targets include:
HD-92, an open seat previously held by Rep. Jonathan Stickland where Democrats came within 2.4% of winning in 2018.
Rep. Bill Zedler (HD-96), who was unseated by Democrats between 2009 and 2011 before returning to the state legislature -- and whose legislative agenda has included attempts to defund programs for children with disabilities
To win in 2020, we need to build a movement with momentum. Chip in $20.20 right now to help us flip these key target districts and take back the Texas House.
In order to flip these seats, we need to get our message out and mobilize voters in each of our target districts - and that takes funding. Will you make a contribution to help us adequately fund every target district in 2020?
Thank you for joining us in this fight.
