There’s been a lot of news for gun violence prevention activists to focus on over the last few weeks and we here at Team Annie wanted to make sure you didn’t miss them.
FIRST: The Republican Supreme Court overturned a New York gun law, making it easier to carry a gun even as the gun violence crisis worsens.
THEN: The House voted to pass the first meaningful gun violence prevention measure in around 30 years. Nancy Mace, a self-proclaimed “second amendment girl”, voted against the bipartisanly supported bill that is now law.
NOW: We’re facing more and more gun violence everyday—with yet another mass shooting happening at a Fourth of July parade on Monday.
This is a crisis, and we need leaders who will actually respond, not cater to the NRA. So we’re asking you to sign our petition this week if you agree: Enough is enough.
While children are being shot to death in their classrooms and families are being gunned down at grocery stores, concerts, local parades, and basically anywhere in America, the Supreme Court ruled to make carrying guns easier and Nancy Mace voted against taking any action to stop the bloodshed.
As a pediatrician who has cared for far too many children with bullet holes, Annie doesn’t have the luxury of looking away from the public health crisis of gun violence. She’s outraged by the “leaders” who refuse to take action as people die.
Now, we need you to take action too. Sign our petition to make your stance clear against gun violence:
