Friend,
The Supreme Court of the United States handed down another landmark decision recently defending the First Amendment and our religious liberties. SCOTUS declared that government entities, including public schools, should not and cannot erase individuals’ personal rights under the Free Exercise Clause to pray on an athletic field or in a public space. This is a significant ruling for religious liberty and a crucial stand for an inalienable Constitutional right.
As a former NFL player and a Christian, I believe in the right to have religious freedom on and off the field. It was significant to me to be able to pray before I played AND give God the glory afterwards, regardless of the game’s outcome. Being able to pray gave me peace and clarity to focus on the task before me. I’m incredibly grateful that others now have the renewed protection of the Constitution to do so as well without fear of losing their job.
