Resources to the Block/The Ward 8 Health Pop-Ups are in-person community engagement events that activate various neighborhoods across Ward 8. Our participating providers will offer a variety of services to include but not limited to:

• Mental health services and resources
• Job opportunities
• Housing resources
• COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters
• Colon Screening Take-Home Kits
• Nutrition Education and more!

WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser dispatched 50 violence interrupters and 100 community outreach workers in an effort to prevent violent crime in the district on the Fourth of July.

Violent crime is up 10% over last year in the city, which is why the mayor sent out not just more officers to keep people safe but also dispatched their largest team of violence interrupters ever into communities like Columbia Heights.
