Stop Asking Me When My Son Is Going To Cut His Hair
[[link removed]]
Today, Katie Bingham-Smith has a message for the people who won’t stop sharing
their opinions about her sons’ long hair: buzz off.

She writes: “It baffles me how people approach the subject of boys and their
hair. People routinely ask my sons and other boys things like, ‘When are you
going to cut your hair?’ or ‘Are you going to cut your hair?’ Or they just say
something like, “Oh My Gosh! Your hair is just so… long.’ As if the person with
the haircut has no idea what length their hair is and they have saved the day by
mentioning that it’s long.” Sound familiar?

— Kelly Faircloth, Executive Editor

What’s the part of parenting that you just… can’t? For Vanessa Loder, it’s long
bedtime stories: “When it’s my turn to choose a story for my son’s bedtime, word
count and humor are my top criteria.” As in, as few words as possible. But she’s
got a very simple solution – and a whole theory to back up why it’s a good one.
