Hi John, it’s Delia Ramirez.
As the daughter of immigrants, a State Representative, and a fierce advocate of working people, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to share that I won my highly contested primary election in Illinois’ Third Congressional District.
Despite all the odds, our campaign joined WFP champions across New York and Colorado in victory last week. But I want to be clear about something: Those primary wins were our victories — because without the support of the Working Families Party, I may not have made it this far.
This isn’t just about me though, John: I’m the sixth Working Families Party candidate to win a Democratic primary challenge for Congress in the 2022 election cycle so far.
The challenges that face our nation require bold action and progressive values. My fellow WFP-endorsed candidates are the movement leaders who are leading the charge in bringing much needed change to elected positions across the country. We aren’t bought and paid for by anyone other than YOU and our fellow working people. That’s what makes the support provided by WFP so vital to our campaigns — we don’t have shady millionaires and corporate PACs supporting our work.
Please, can you make a donation of $6 today to support the important movement building and voter mobilization efforts done by WFP? Their tireless organizing work can only continue through November if folks like you chip in when you can.

Last week proved that when we come together and fight for each other, we can defeat corporate special interests no matter how many millions they throw at us. But we don't have time to rest. There are more WFP champions who have upcoming primaries, including Mandela Barnes in Wisconsin in just over a month from now.
Because of supporters like you, WFP had the resources to support my campaign by:
- 300+ volunteer shifts
- 22,000+ phonebank dials from WFP volunteers
- 71 phonebank shifts completed
- 240,000+ texts sent to voters by WFP volunteers
- Running a major TV and digital advertising campaign to introduce voters to my campaign and highlight my opponent’s actual record
If we’re going to elect more progressive champions across the country, from City Council to the U.S. Senate, we need to support their organizing and mobilization work. Can you make your first donation of $6 today so WFP can power more champions to victory next month and all the way through to November?
