Hi John,
You probably know by now that I’m not the biggest fan of DC politics. I tend to talk a lot about the problems in Washington, so today, I want to take a step back and tell you about what we’ve accomplished recently.
Last fall, Democrats worked in a bipartisan way to finally pass a once-in-a-generation infrastructure deal. Over the next 5 years, this historic legislation will help fuel Maine’s economy through smart infrastructure investments that will help our businesses and create good-paying jobs in our state.
We’ve brought home millions of federal dollars for our logging and lobster businesses, our community college training programs for mechanized logging and welding, a new fire station in Rumford, new ambulances in East Millinocket, a biodigester at the Forest Products Hub in Madison, and wastewater infrastructure in Jay and Livermore Falls.
We’ve worked with the Wabanaki tribes to introduce the first significant amendments to their federal settlement act in more than 40 years that would allow them access to the same programs and authorities as other federally-recognized tribes across the country. I’ll continue to work closely with Wabanaki leaders to get this bill across the finish line.
Mainers deserve a representative who will think for themself rather than be a rubber stamp, who will vote their conscience, and not hide from their decisions. That’s the kind of leadership I’ve given you, and that’s what I’ll continue to do as your representative.
But John, I’m facing a tough re-election campaign, and outside groups are spending more against me than they ever have before. In fact, they’re already running TV ads in our district. They want to replace me with someone who will support their extremist agenda, so if you’re able, will you make a donation of any amount to my campaign today?

Jared Golden
