My name is Tom Balanoff and I’m the President of SEIU Local 1 and the President of the SEIU Illinois State Council. The SEIU Illinois State Council represents the largest number of working families in our state , with over 150,000 members. Our organization is dedicated to winning economic, racial, immigrant, social and environmental justice for all working families across Illinois.

At SEIU, we fight to ensure that all working families, no matter their background or where they come from, across all have an equal opportunity to succeed, and build a better future for themselves and their families, particularly for their children.
