Did you hear the news, John?

President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law – a significant step in addressing gun violence nationwide. This is the first major gun safety legislation passed in nearly three decades.

While the bill signed into law is an essential first step, we need to keep fighting for common-sense gun safety legislation to protect our communities from gun violence more effectively.

This year, Dwight introduced his 7-Point Plan to Fight Gun Violence in Philadelphia. And last month, he proudly voted the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act and the Protecting Our Kids Act through the House.

Dwight supports measures that would stop dangerous individuals from accessing firearms and raise the legal age to purchase certain semi-automatic rifles. He also supports cracking down on gun trafficking and banning ghost guns, bump stocks, and high-capacity magazines.

Tragically, Americans saw even more gun violence over the Fourth of July holiday. Gun violence is a national pandemic, and we must treat it as such.

Congress has a responsibility to act and prevent further devastation in our communities. It’s time to apply public pressure and ensure our representatives know just how crucial gun safety legislation is to our communities. Join Dwight in calling on the Senate to bring more comprehensive gun safety legislation to a vote. >>> [link removed]

Enough is enough, and we must keep fighting until we can all feel safe in our homes and communities.
