For a battleground state like Michigan, this is a huge deal.

Team, the path to saving our democracy runs straight through Michigan. Let me explain.

The United States Supreme Court announced that it will hear Moore v. Harper, a case around something called the “independent state legislature theory.” The consequences of hearing this case could be devastating for our democracy.

One thing we can do immediately is to flip both chambers of Michigan’s legislature this November by defeating Republicans at the ballot box. Chip in here to fuel our work as we build a grassroots campaign to turn Michigan blue in ‘22 →

If the ultra-conservative bench decides to entertain the “independent state legislature theory,” state legislatures could have unchecked power to put laws in place to interfere with federal election results (example: alternate slates of electors) and roll back voting rights.

For a battleground state like Michigan, this is a huge deal.

If a conservative state legislature has the power to interfere with federal elections, the will of the people in Michigan could be undermined and the failed MAGA plot to steal the 2020 presidential election could prove successful in 2024.

Team, we need to prepare now and flip Michigan blue in November, or free and fair elections in our state could be a thing of the past.

If we come together now, we can build an unstoppable force that is fueled at the grassroots level to flip both chambers in Michigan’s legislature blue.

Make a contribution to our Democracy Defenders Fund here and together, we can grow our grassroots movement to help elect Michigan Democrats and turn Michigan blue in ‘22!
