We need to spread our message visibly and proudly >>

Folks —

My husband and I believe that a woman’s health care decisions are both personal and private – and best kept between herself and her doctor. A half-century ago, the Supreme Court agreed, establishing in their Roe v. Wade decision that women have a constitutional right to an abortion. Unfortunately, attacks on our autonomy to make these private decisions have escalated over the years.

Last month, the Supreme Court's far-right majority overturned Roe and rolled back these rights, opening the door for the government – rather than patients and their doctors – to determine under what circumstances women must bear children. This decision has subjected women in about half our states to extreme abortion bans or restrictions, threatening women’s health and their lives.

While Michael was back in D.C. fighting for new laws to protect women’s freedom, last month I was fueled by frustration and got busy with his team to design some campaign gear to allow us collectively to raise our voices in support of women and their right to be the boss of their reproductive health and, consequently, their lives.

Michael and I both understand that the decision to have a child, or not, is deeply personal and that people sometimes find themselves in circumstances that make a pregnancy, or raising a child, untenable. Regardless of why a woman chooses to terminate her pregnancy, the freedom to make that decision is fundamental. We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure that women can continue to control this aspect of their lives… and that means we are fighting, in the Senate and on the streets, to protect the constitutional rights outlined in Roe v. Wade.

The majority of Americans — and a large majority of Coloradans — believe women should have this fundamental right. But in order to show the strength of our movement, we need to spread our message visibly and proudly. That’s why I hope you’ll wear your support for the right to choose and make a purchase from our Reproductive Freedom line today.
