Welcome to Wednesday, July 6th, sporks and knives...

India banned the use of single-use plastic to help reach its climate goals.

The ban pertains to the production, importation, stocking, distribution, sale, and use of certain single-use plastic items with low utility and a high littering potential. These items include plastic stirrers, plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, trays, wrapping and packing materials, balloon sticks, flags, ice cream sticks, and polystyrene for decorations.

India produces the second most plastic waste in the world, behind the United States.
