AmeriCorps VISTAs are Making a Difference

The Anti-Hunger Corps is a national AmeriCorps VISTA project sponsored by Hunger Free America. AmeriCorps VISTA members commit themselves full-time for 365 days with nonprofit organizations to empower communities with new capacity and sustainable solutions for overcoming the causes and conditions of poverty.

Our program places VISTA members with anti-hunger nonprofit organizations to increase their capacity and ability to create sustainable solutions to help food insecure households achieve self-sufficiency. We currently have more than 80 year-long members serving at 50 partner organizations in 16 states.
Over the past few weeks, HFA CEO Joel Berg has visited several of our VISTA sites throughout the country, getting to see firsthand the incredible work these folks do. From assisting with summer meals for kids, to organizing farm training sessions and staffing local farmers markets, our VISTAs are on the ground, helping to fight hunger.

If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please call our Hunger Hotline! Our representatives are available Monday-Friday 7AM - 10PM: 866-348-6479 (English) or 877-842-6273 (Spanish).
