Hey John, I wanted to take a moment to check in with you and give you space to share your thoughts on all that’s been going on.

Like you, I’m feeling frustrated, angry, and disappointed about last month’s Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and eliminating millions of Americans’ reproductive rights.

I’m also still thinking about the children and teachers who lost their lives due to gun violence in May — and the horrific mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, this holiday weekend.

But I’m not feeling hopeless. I’m not giving up. I’m using these emotions as a driving force for progress.

I’m proud to say that in June, the Senate passed the first gun safety legislation in decades. And right now, we’re working to support those most at risk in wake of such a horrible Supreme Court decision.

This moment will be defined by how we react, and what we prioritize most. Whether that be by working to elect more Democrats in the Senate, fighting back against the corrupt gun lobbies like the NRA that influence our democracy, or standing up to the corporate greed that is driving inflation.
