Hi John,

Summer is officially here, which means so is hurricane season. As a native Floridian, I’ve seen many hurricane seasons come and go, but I’ve also seen them get worse year after year.

Experts are once again predicting another monster hurricane season this year, and research shows that this is directly related to rising temperatures caused by climate change.

Miami is ground-zero for the impacts of climate. Just last month, our neighbors in Cutler Bay, Little Havana, and Brickell were under water for weeks after a storm. Flooding has become more frequent, sea levels are rising, and the extreme heat is impacting business. It’s in our best interest to be responsible and prepared for what is to come.

We can’t wait to act, John. This issue will only get worse if we sit by and do nothing to stop it. Our local leaders need support from Tallahassee and when I’m your State Senator, I look forward to working alongside them to mitigate the impacts.

That’s why I’m committed to fighting for funding to protect our natural resources, increase renewable energy options, and make our home more resilient.

With the Supreme Court's ruling last week to limit the EPA's ability to regulate greenhouse gasses, it's up to us to work at the state and local level to protect our environment.

We have to act now, not just for us, but for future generations of Floridians.

If you stand with me in the fight against climate change, click here to make a contribution today so I can win this November and go to Tallahassee to fight for our community.

South Florida is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in this community, and now, I’m raising my own children here.

We have to protect our home, and I know we can do that together.

By promoting smart innovation and growth, we can redefine what the future will look like for our children and for our children’s children.

Can you join me in the fight to protect our environment by making a contribution today?

Thank you,

Janelle
