SHERIFF RICK WELLS AND COMMISSIONER KEVIN VAN OSTENBRIDGE ENDORSE CONGRESSMAN VERN BUCHANAN
“Congressman Buchanan is a fierce defender of local law enforcement” – Sheriff Wells
“Buchanan is a no-nonsense representative who always puts the needs of Manatee County first” – Commissioner Van Ostenbridge
The Buchanan campaign today announced the endorsements of Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells and Manatee County Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge for the congressman’s re-election effort.
“The congressman’s Thin Blue Line Act, which imposes severe punishments on those who assault police officers, is needed now more than ever,” said Sheriff Wells. “Congressman Buchanan will always stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who risk their lives for our community.”
Buchanan praised Sheriff Wells for his unwavering commitment to protecting the citizens of Manatee County. “Sheriff Wells and the brave men and women of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office put it on the line every day to keep our community safe. I will never stop fighting to make sure they have the resources they need to do their jobs.”
Buchanan also received the endorsement of Manatee County Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge, who is the chairman of the Manatee Board of County Commissioners. “Unlike his opponent who is best known for verbally assaulting police officers and criticizing President Trump, Congressman Buchanan knows the importance of funding law enforcement and fighting back against the Woke radical left,” said Commissioner Van Ostenbridge.
The congressman called Van Ostenbridge “a tenacious fighter” for Manatee County and a commissioner who is “unafraid to speak his mind and challenge the status quo” when working for the people he represents.
