Dear John ,

Today, we drew a line in the sand when it comes to unsafe drinking water.

We released “The Water Quality Protection Checklist” [[link removed]] to ensure legislators understand what’s necessary this legislative session to fix Wisconsin’s drinking water crisis.

Thanks to you, unsafe drinking water has been in the spotlight all year. Gov. Tony Evers named 2019 the Year of Clean Drinking Water. Speaker Robin Vos formed a bipartisan task force to create solutions to water pollution across the state.

You’ve helped drive extraordinary progress toward clean water in our communities.

With this emphasis on clean drinking water, it’s more important than ever to make it clear to legislators what we expect of them. The checklist [[link removed]] gives legislators eight specific requirements for protecting Wisconsin’s water quality.

It also makes it clear this is how we will evaluate them this legislative session, and if they succeed or fail to protect our water and our health.

You can view or download the checklist here. [[link removed]]

As more and more communities suffer the terrible effects of drinking water pollution, this is no time for half-measures or Band-Aid fixes that don’t address the heart of the water quality crisis.

With our checklist [[link removed]] , voters across the state will have explicit evidence of who fought for their water this legislative session – and who failed them, their families, and communities.

Thank you for being a conservation voter,
