Dear John, I hope you had a relaxing July 4th weekend.
I spent some time reflecting on how my colleagues just don't get how dangerous it is to - fail to pass our State's budget on time. This year I assumed would be different because we have billions, yes BILLIONS in surplus. I can imagine what the over eight billion in surplus dollars can do for our: - tax payers
- for gun violence prevention efforts
- mental health
- non-profits and their ability to feed, house, cloth or train those they serve
- health care facilities and hospitals
- Planned Parenthood
- nature preserves and state parks
- schools
- small businesses
- roads and bridges
- secure access to the ballot box
- and more.
As I wait for this year's budget to be finished, I promise you, I will continue to fight for our Commonwealth and the priorities we share. Please help me continue to move Pennsylvania forward !
