Governor's Committee On People With Disabilities' Now Accepting Entries For The 2022 NDEAM Poster Art Competition

Each year in October, the Texas Governor?s Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD) produces a poster for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) featuring art created by a *Texas artist with a disability*. The Texas posters have become so popular that we distribute more than 2,500 to businesses all across the nation. The winning artwork is also incorporated into the Texas HireAbility Campaign [ [link removed] ]. This year's national theme is "Disability: Part of the Equity Equation. [ [link removed] ]"

You may get acquainted with past poster art competition winners by viewing our webinar, Art Works! Careers in the Visual Arts and People with Disabilities [ [link removed] ].

Submissions from Texas artists with disabilities can be sent to the GCPD via email at [email protected]. Artists should submit a photo attachment of the original work in a high resolution digital format. We will also accept a color photocopy or image on a CD sent by postal mail. The original artwork does not need to be submitted with the entry. Artwork in any visual media format is acceptable.

All entries must be accompanied by a signed entry form and short statement about the artist. Submission
guidelines and an entry form are available on the GCPD's website.[link removed]

*Entries must be received by email or postmarked by July 29, 2022. There is NO FEE to submit an entry.*?This year's winner will be announced in August.

The poster will be on permanent display in the Office of the Governor?s Committee on People with Disabilities and occasionally be featured in offsite exhibits. The winning artist is also invited to be a featured guest at the annual Lex Frieden Employment Awards ceremony in October.
