** Global Youth Work Learning Network

Taking place online at 11am on Tuesday 19th July, this meeting will focus on ‘working with conflict’ and the impact global youth work can have. The network is open for all who work or volunteer in the youth sector.

** The 25 Percent project - final report

In 2021, we gave space to Irish youth voices who have not been heard before, allowing them to influence the Conference on the Future of Europe through actionable ideas, and empowering them to become active citizens. This report summarises the results of a large-scale consultation from 36 European countries, including Ireland.

Belong To want to know what school is like for LGBTQ+ youth! In partnership with Columbia University, New York, Belong To have launched their School Climate Survey, asking LGBTQ+ young people across Ireland what second-level school is like for them. ** IAYO: Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra

Join the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra as they perform under the guidance of artistic director Claire Duff and musicians from the Irish Baroque Orchestra in St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street on Saturday, 23 July at 5:00pm. Tickets are €15 and available at the door.

This year’s Irish Youth Wind Ensemble will bring their national tour to Curtis Auditorium, Cork School of Music on Friday 29 July at 6:30pm in association with MTU Cork School of Music and to O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College, Dublin on Saturday, 30 July at 6:30pm. ** Volunteers for Summer Camps for Ukrainian Refugees

Ógras will also be running Summer Camps free of charge for Ukrainian young people aged 7-12 years. The camps will give these children a safe space to make friends, integrate and learn about Irish culture and language, and have some fun in these tough times. They are looking for volunteers who speak Ukrainian or Russian.

Ministers Foley, Harris and O’Gorman have announced the launch of the second National Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development – ESD to 2030 with accompanying Implementation Plan to 2026.

New Certificate in Global Citizenship Education
The Department of International Development, Maynooth University, is now accepting applications to the new postgraduate level Certificate in Global Citizenship Education. The closing date for applications has been extended until the 30th July 2022.

Youth@Play is a training programme from PlayBoard NI that increases youth workers understanding of the value of play, how play helps children learn about the world, and how to meet children and young people’s play needs in a youth work setting.

Migration Stories Erasmus+
Migrant Stories is an Erasmus+ Training Course that brought together 21 Youth workers: 7 per country (Georgia, Turkey, and Ireland) at the Faith Mission Centre, Bandon co. Cork Ireland from 4-11 May 2022. It explored Non-formal Education Strategies that foster inclusion for marginalized young people with migration backgrounds in the EU.

Kilkenny County Council Artist In Residence Grant
Kilkenny County Council Arts Office, Ossory Youth & the Drum Youth Centre invite applications from suitably qualified visual artists to undertake a residency in these two city-based youth centres in Kilkenny from mid-September to mid-November 2022.
