We hope you had a safe and happy holiday weekend. 

Lizzie and the team were excited to celebrate Independence Day with friends, neighbors, and community leaders at events across TX-07.  It was a good day to reconnect with constituents and democratic organizations that are working to ensure liberty, equality, and independence for all, especially at this challenging time.

It was only after returning from these celebrations that we learned about the horrific shooting in Highland Park, Illinois.  All of our hearts are broken, again, as we see this attack on Americans at a community gathering to celebrate the Fourth of July.  As we continue to learn about the shooting, we are compelled to continue our work together to end gun violence.

We’ve known for a long time that more must be done to address gun violence.  And we are glad to report that Lizzie voted for our country’s first gun-safety laws in decades, and President Biden signed them into law.  This was an important step, but Lizzie is committed to doing more – including supporting a ban on assault weapons.  We will continue our work in honor of these victims, and of the many more who have died this year alone from gun violence.

Another important aspect of our work is fighting for policies that lift up women, close gaps in pay and opportunity, and ensure access to reproductive care.  We’re proud to tell you that the National Organization for Women’s PAC has recognized Lizzie’s long track record as a champion for women and endorsed her for re-election.

After the Supreme Court’s decisions overturning Roe and blocking gun-safety measures, it’s clear we need to elect leaders at every level who will do what’s right for Texas and our country — leaders like Lizzie.

We can’t do that without people like you getting involved, and that’s why we’re so grateful to have you on the team.
