Our zine is out now and ready for you to read! Click here!
Happy Tuesday, Friend! Have you gotten the chance to check out ✨ the magical art and writing in our ‘Immigrant Made’ Zine? ✨
We released Volume 2 a couple weeks ago and would love for you to take a look! You can do so by downloading a copy here (we can also mail you a physical copy!). Ayling, one of the writers’ in our Zine, sent ya an email last week about the meaning behind her writing. 💜
Subject: OUT NOW! Volume 2 of ‘Immigrant Made’ the Zine 💗
It’s here, Friend! Volume 2 of our Zine all about immigrant self-love and pride is READY TO READ. 🤩 And I’m even more excited to share that I’m one of the writers featured in it!
I’m a first-gen Chicana-Dominicana poet, mixed media artist, and youth arts educator. I create poetry and community art from a place of radical love. In the Zine, I wrote 3 poems about what a world without borders would look like, how special us immigrants are by very nature of being immigrants, and how powerful our stories and ancestral wisdom are. 💗
To be able to write and share these poems with you mean the world to me, Friend. 🥺 It shows that us immigrants know what’s best for us, by honoring what came before us and drawing inspiration from our ancestors in the fight for justice.
With that, I hope you’ll take a moment right now to read my poems and browse through our zine. 💗 Through our art and writing, we want to remind our communities that our stories matter and that our culture is power!
With love,
Ayling and the team at UWD
