It’s time to fight back and hit them where it hurts. It is time for a reckoning.

Without question, the biggest news of the past week has been the egregious and illegal release of private confidential information about several hundred thousand holders of a license to carry in California, including their home address, by the California Attorney General’s Office. 

As reported, since that data leak, Gun Owners of California has been contacted by scores of concerned citizens.  GOC is now coordinating with the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) to collect the names and email addresses of anyone who has had their private information compromised for a potential class action lawsuit or other appropriate litigation to respond to Attorney General Bonta’s breach of public trust, to find out exactly what happened, and to hold him and the California DOJ accountable.

You may have heard that a class action lawsuit has already been filed regarding this situation by an organization that has not historically been involved in the fight for our rights in California, nor supported California gun owners. Please consider: any organization that has prematurely jumped into this legal fray that has no record of effectively fighting for the Second Amendment in our state is probably motivated more by fundraising opportunities rather than the interests of California’s gun owners. Remember that groups like GOC and CRPA, that have been involved in the fight for the 2A in California for many decades, have the best foundation, experience, expertise, connections, and opportunity to successfully represent California’s gun-owning citizens – whether they have a license to carry in public or not. Gun Owners of California and CRPA have that unassailable record of fighting relentlessly for the 2A in California.

GOC and CRPA have already retained some of the most influential and uniquely experienced law firms with extraordinarily advanced technologies that are qualified to manage appropriate litigation in response the Attorney General’s breach of trust, including a likely class action lawsuit of this magnitude.
