Yesterday, Henry Cuellar said that this seat shouldn’t be up “for sale to the highest bidder.”

Well on this, I actually agree with Henry.

In fact, it’s why I’m running against him. He’s been taking money from corporate special interests for years in exchange for doing their bidding.

Private prisons, Big Oil, the Koch Brothers and the NRA are among his biggest donors, and his record completely reflects that he stands with them, not the people of our district.

He’s trying to buy this seat once more in this campaign, and it’s our job to stop him.

Henry Cuellar keeps trying to obscure the truth about how our campaigns are funded.

It’s simple. Over half of his money comes from PACs, while just 0.48% comes from small-dollar donors — that’s defined by the FEC as individuals giving less than $200.

Ours is funded by the people. Last quarter, we actually raised more from individuals than he did, and 52% of what we’ve raised is from small-dollar donors.

When I’m in Congress, you’ll know my allegiance will be to the people of our district — not corporate special interests. That’s why it’s so important that we win this race.
