Governor Tom Wolf has promised to veto any abortion ban presented by the legislature. But his word is only good until January 2023, when his term is over. Then, our rights will be up to the new governor.
The will of the Commonwealth’s voters — especially Black, brown, and young voters — is clear: they are against restricting the right to abortions.
But some want to write off the will of the voters. They would rather reframe backlash against their own extremist attempts to strip away our rights over our bodies as a partisan “distraction” from “dealing with life.”
Claiming Roe is a “distraction” is disgusting. Roe is about the right to control our bodies. Our rights are not a distraction — they are the whole point.
John, when the Constitution was written, only one group of people could cast a vote. It’s no surprise the only rights they thought to explicitly defend were their own. Now, we all have the choice of who we are going to vote for in November, and whose rights we are going to defend.
