Hi John,
I want to bring up a challenging question.
That question is this: Is abortion (the killing of a preborn child) justified in cases of rape?
Let’s address this question in the context of a true story …
Stephanie Reynolds’ mother was a victim of rape.
You can hear Stephanie’s take on being the daughter of a victim of rape here: https://prolifereplies.liveaction.org/abortion-in-cases-of-rape/
When we think about difficult circumstances such as pregnancy from rape, we often don’t have the baby in mind, since that is a human we have not seen or met.
But Stephanie gives a face to all the babies who are conceived through rape.
To be clear: A woman who has been raped has suffered horrific violence and injustice, and she deserves help, healing, and the support of her community.
Abortion is another horrific violence on top of the rape, not a “solution” that will make the “problem” go away.
Abortion only makes the woman a mother of a dead child.
Our laws must be improved to more fully protect women and girls from any cruel attacker.
And a preborn child does not deserve the death penalty because of his or her father’s crime. The rapist should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
If abortion is wrong in one circumstance, it is wrong in every circumstance.
Thank you for joining us to make sure every baby is protected, and every woman sees that abortion will never give her the healing she needs after such a traumatic experience as rape.
For the preborn,
