Dear Friend,
Join us for an evening of great conversation across the Jobs With Justice community! We are excited to be cohosting an event with national Jobs With Justice to celebrate their 35 years and the movement we’ve built together. It will also be the book launch for The Future We Need, co-authored by JWJ Executive Director Erica Smiley and past Executive Director Sarita Gupta.
The DC area is home to two of the leaders profiled in the book, Kimberly Mitchell and Cynthia Murray who have both worked closely with DC JWJ. We are so excited to hear from them all and celebrate their leadership. It’s sure to be a great night, with a chance to hear about local and national strategies, and lots of time to connect with other attendees.

“The Future We Need positions the struggle to build collective bargaining power as a central element in the effort to build a healthy democracy. It offers new approaches to how we build worker power in a world in which the economy has dramatically changed over the last century—evolving collective bargaining as we know it to match the needs of modern people, not only to change their wages and working conditions, but to be able to govern over more aspects of their lives.”
Can't wait to see you there!
